Being a Christian is not being religious, but
being in personal relationship with our Lord Christ Jesus.
It is more than believing about Him and what He has done for
us; it is being intimate with Him as a dynamic
living Person. Eternal life is knowing Him
(John 17:3), an inner, intimate, intrinsic knowing that goes
far beyond doctrinal understanding. Faith is far more than
believing facts about Him; it is seeing Him in the Spirit,
dynamically depending upon Him, and sensitively obeying Him.
The baptism into the Holy Spirit is far more than speaking
in tongues; it is a plunging of our self into His Holy Spirit
- it is the beginning of that intrinsic knowing and seeing
Him; and it enables Him to sanctify us, purge us, empty us
of self, unto full intimacy with Him. His ultimate intention
for each of us is to be in intimate oneness with Him as His
Bride.
This book goes into great detail re each of the “stages”
of His bringing us into that full intimacy with Him. Although
He must do the doing, He will do nothing unless our will is
yielded to His. We will see Him only when we seek Him and
search for Him with our whole heart (Jeremiah 29:13). “Whole
heart” means with a thirst as desperate as a wanderer in a
desert. How desperate is your heart to see
Him? How serious are you with Him? How much
do you really long for Him?
